The issue of whether or not seven-day holiday should be abolished has been widely debated currently. The poll set up by government on China’s major website portals shows quite a few people are unhappy with current public holiday arrangement .They claim that Golden Week traveling  has become a tiring job .On the other hand, many people want the practice to remain.

There is no denying that public holidays have many positive effects. Firstly, .it can greatly promote the development of tourist industry and create jobs .Secondly, ordinary people can fully enjoy better quality of life. They are entitled to entertain and relax .Finally, local people can earn a great deal through tourism . And this income can help to preserve cultural sites.

However, everything has  its two sides.long public holiday is no exception. Huge numbers of tourists can cause chaos. Many holidays makers have experienced traffic jams, Some even were stranded in some tourist resorts.Also,a huge crowd of tourists can  cause serious damage to the fragile environment and  historic sites.

Obviously,both sides have cogent reasons.the point is we should wisely arrange public holidays.To my mind,we should not enjoy paid leave at the same time .Anyway, the public have the right to long holidays. Flexible paid leave can be established, so that people could arrange their own travel plans.
